‘The Mandalorian’ season 2: R2D2, Boba Fett hinted in teaser

Share

The Mandalorian season 2 dropped its first teaser this week, and Star Wars fans think R2D2 and Boba Fett are in it.

A scene from The Mandalorian season 2 teaser shows the character soaring through space with an X-Wing pulling up next to him. A fan on Twitter noticed a peculiar figure from this X-Wing.

Apparently, hitting pause on one clip will show R2D2 sitting on the spacecraft. But other fans think that this robot is not the right color as this figure looks greener than R2D2’s blue.

Fans also think that there are clues to the bounty hunter Boba Fett in the trailer. Apparently, his armor is in one shot, but it’s only noticeable to eagle-eyed and impassioned Star Wars fans.

Ever since “The Gunslinger” episode in season 1, fans have been convinced that Boba Fett will be on the show soon. That mysterious cloaked figure watching Din Djarin/The Mandalorian in the Tatooine desert was never revealed. Many viewers theorized that it’s Boba Fett.

Most awaited series, Emmy wins

Set to return on Disney+ this October, The Mandalorian season 2 is fall season’s most awaited show. A survey from Rotten Tomatoes revealed that it tops the viewers’ list, followed by Fargo season 4, This Is Us season 5, The Crown season 4, and His Dark Materials season 2.

The Mandalorian also came out the big winner at the Creative Emmy awards Wednesday. The show picked up the trophy for Special Effects and Cinematography for Greig Fraser.

Created and directed by Jon Favreau, the series stars Pedro Pascal as the gunslinging Mandalorian. He has made it his life’s mission to protect Baby Yoda after realizing that the child shouldn’t end up with the Imperial forces.

Pedro Pascal left the show?

Meanwhile, as the new season’s launch draws closer, rumors are cropping up that Pascal actually quit the series halfway through filming. Apparently, the actor asked for scenes where his character could remove his helmet, but the creative team said no.

Sources also said that Pascal had meetings with Lucasfilm about his frustrations on the set. The actor apparently wanted to get involved in the development of the story for the second season. But the creative team was one in saying that they could walk away if he’s not happy.

Pascal’s “breakup” with The Mandalorian was described as “pretty bad,” but no one is addressing the drama behind the scenes in public yet.

The Mandalorian season 2 will drop the first episode on Disney+ on Oct. 30, with new episodes arriving on the streamer every Friday.
