After doing his popular stint in Cyberpunk 2077 last year, Keanu Reeves is back as Neo in the latest trailer for The Matrix Resurrections.
The highly awaited reveal for the fourth entry, The Matrix Resurrections, is here finally. And the first movie trailer blows the mind!
‘The Matrix Resurrections’ trailer explained
Die-hard Matrix lovers, this is no drill. The official trailer has eventually arrived, and Reeves seems to be enjoying his return, most probably. It is going to be a rollercoaster ride.
And yes, Carrie-Anne Moss, aka classic Trinity, is also there in the fourth edition.
The very first film, back in 1999, made everyone shocked by showing a fictional world where everything seemed unreal. Reality felt like a confusing state because that’s what the whole series tried to convey, in terms of an individual’s being and existence.
Now, the trailer of The Matrix Resurrections once again shows a new, unexpected adventure where Neo has to deal with parallel things!
However, now the character has evolved a lot with a long-haired look.
“I have dreams that are not just dreams,” he tells his therapist during the opening scene in the trailer. In between, we also see many flashbacks.
The clip clearly shows Neo taking the blue pills, which means he wants to stay in his current reality instead of choosing the red pills. The latter can do–you know that–stranger things to anyone.
But, as it has to happen, we see Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s character meeting Keanu. And he gives him the red pills saying, “Time to fly.”
And boom!
The world turns upside down for Neo, throwing him back into the world of The Matrix.
Before the trailer ends, Jonathan Groff Tells Neo how it would feel like, after all these years, moving back to the unpredictable and parallel dimension.
In the entirety of the maiden clip, Neo is seen chasing “the truth.” Of course, he wants to search for the actual, original reality.

‘The Matrix 4’ cast and release date
Apart from Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, there are many new members, this time, in the upcoming movie.
Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas also shows up, and by her appearance, she will play some mysterious yet key role.
In one scene, Jonas is reading the book Alice In Wonderland – Through The Looking Glass. That’s a literary reference to the film’s own theme as it’s all about diving deep into alternate realities.
Other actors are Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Jada Pinkett Smith, Daniela Harpaz, and many more.
Alongside Reeves, Lana Wachowski, who helmed the past three movies, has also returned as the director.
Distributed by Warner Bros. The Matrix Resurrections will release on December 22, 2021, in theaters.
