Speaking about the film, it’s a reboot of 2016’s Suicide Squad, a big failure. James Gunn’s take on DC’s anti-heroes and villains will be a different version. But the cast is partially the same, just like the first part. It will also reveal fresh faces and characters.
DCEU has suffered a lot because of many insufficient entries in the franchise so far. Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Man of Steel, and 2017’s Justice League are some of them. With The Suicide Squad, James Gunn will have a big task of giving out an entertaining and excellent film. He’s done wonders already for the MCU with his Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Now that he’s working for DC, at the moment, it will be interesting to see his new vision and direction.
And yes, as it’s a Warner Bros, plus DC movie, The Suicide Squad will be an R-rated adventure. Fans can expect a lot of violent action sequences throughout the film. The cast includes a return of Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (Joker), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), and Karen Fukuhara.
Upcoming Warner Bros. titles in 2021
Meanwhile, apart from DC projects, Warner Bros. has many other big releases coming this year. After the Snyder Cut of Justice League’s arrival on HBO Max, other films to make their way ahead are Dune and Mortal Kombat. The latter is a live-action adaptation of the hit video game franchise. Then there’s King Richard and the Tom & Jerry movie as well.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Matrix 4, Sherlock Holmes 3, The Little Things, and Malignant are some of the other anticipated movies. The fourth installment in the MonsterVerse series is coming as well! Godzilla Vs. Kong has become one of the most-awaited films of 2021 since its trailer was revealed recently.
But there’s also the pandemic going on right now, affecting big-budget movies. If the cases don’t come down, then all the WB titles will solely arrive on its native streaming service.
Coming back to The Suicide Squad, it’s currently scheduled to hit the screens in August.
