The new ‘Overwatch 2’ director wants to make it “compelling”

After Jeff Kaplan departed from Blizzard, Aaron Keller recently became the new director for Overwatch 2.

Now that he’s helming the installment, Keller wants to make Overwatch 2 a very compelling game, no matter what.

He recently shared his brief plans for the title in an interaction with a news outlet.

‘Overwatch 2’ early details

When asked about his vision for the next entry, Keller said that he’s “well-connected and aligned” with the current vision, because it won’t be “right for me to suddenly make a bunch of big changes” to Overwatch 2.

Moreover, he added that the team has already discussed the PvE half of the next installment in some quantity.

Further, he also emphasized that Blizzard wants to “make the next best version of a team-based shooter.”

He also said that he wants to make the PvP in Overwatch 2 “as compelling as we possibly can.”

All in all, he tried to say that there’s no different vision than Kaplan’s. And that he will go as per the initial idea of the previous director while adding the best elements.

Fans will like it because they loved the approach with the first game a lot.

And thus, making a ton of changes with the second entry is not what Keller’s looking for.

Speaking of any other news about the upcoming title, then there’s nothing else at the moment. It may be the case that Blizzard wants to keep things secretive before making an official announcement.

When it comes to the most-awaited potential blockbusters, there is Resident Evil Village, Far Cry 6, and STALKER 2.

God of War: Ragnarok, a new Call of Duty entry, Horizon Forbidden West, and Halo Infinite are also highly anticipated.

But that’s not it!

The line-up extends further with Dying Light 2, Returnal, Deathloop, Back 4 Blood, Stray, and New World.

Humankind, Biomutant, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Psychonauts 2, GhostWire: Tokyo and No More Heroes 3 are other crucial launches.

Several recently announced projects making their debuts soon are The Day Before, Glitchpunk, and Etched Memories. The latter will be quite an interesting title to watch out for because it will feature a Cat, named Biscuit as the main protagonist.

Overwatch 2, again, then currently it’s still in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
