Compared to the A14 Bionic chip, A15 Bionic chips will improve Apple’s performance and power efficiency.
Apple has a brand new chip for its next-generation iPhone 13, which Apple says provides better power efficiency and performance overall. And now, the chip appears to have come into mass production—or so claim insiders.
A recent report from the Supply chain states that the iPhone will face no delays this year because a new Apple-designed A15 Bionic processor is now being produced by the Taiwan Semiconductor manufacturing company (TSMC), the new iPhone 13 family.
The debut of the iPhone 12 series, featuring four new models – iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 small – has taken many months because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. This year with iPhone 13 series, the good news is that this will not be the case.
If these rumors are true, then Apple looks as if it’s going on the course of the alleged official iPhone 13 announcement this coming September, which is relatively early in comparison with the delayed (and troubled) iPhone 12 launch.
Apple A15 Bionic
The A15 Bionic looks like the first A14. The A15 Bionic expects to feature an increased IPC while these two chips are the first caliber to be made using the 5nm process.
For non-technical people, TSMC and Apple can tear even more transistors into a much smaller room with an “enhanced” 5nm production process. This will improve the performance and the power efficiency of desktop CPUs, basically.
The A15 has not yet been officially identified, but the A14 fans can expect better performance and a real next-generation iPhone 13 experience. The chip has a performance level far higher than any modern Android phone on a few estimates.
MacWorld reports that a Geekbench 5 single-core score of over 1800 points could achieve through the theoretical performance of the Bionic. It’s not even halfway close compared to Snapdragon 888 on most high-end Android phones.
What’s The News on the iPhone 13
Reported sources say that Apple expects to unveil four new iPhone 13 small, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max versions under the next iPhone 13 Series. A lot of the iPhone 13 has been discussed thus far.
There are also reports that the iPhone 13 mini has a smaller 5.4-inch screen, whilst the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro have a substantially larger screen. The Mini and iPhones should have a set rate of refreshment, while the Pro versions will feature an adjustable rate of 120 Hz.
The basic iPhone 13 Pro will also inherit the sensor-shift tech of the iPhone 12 Pro Max and also an upgraded 2.5x photos with a zoom camera, a movement that will restore camera parity to the Pro line.
Expect to launch the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro, and the Apple Watch Series 7 in the first part of September.
