Japanese fans now have the reason to celebrate as The Promised Neverland Season 2 is about to hit their small screens.
The anime series’ official account finally revealed the official release date of The Promised Neverland Season 2. The beginning of the year will be good for the show’s fans as it will be out in the winter 2021 anime season.
A different Season 2
According to Monsters and Critics, the second installment’s delay has something to do with the current COVID-19 pandemic.
It puts the entire entertainment industry to a full stop, and so as a lot of anime series.
Fortunately, after a long wait, the coming of the second season was finally announced. The news came before the release of the manga series’ end in The Promised Neverland Chapter 181.
During the Anime Expo 2019, producer Kenta Suzuki teased The Promised Neverland Season 2 will be different from Season 1.
Here, fans will soon know what will happen next to Emma, Ray, and the other children after they have escaped Grace Field House into the demon forest.
It will also finally delve into the reality of the larger world and the mystery surrounding William Minerva.
A new song for the new season
In time for Halloween, composer Takahiro Obata dropped a short clip of the second season’s new song on Twitter.
“Happy Halloween! That’s why I’m slightly unveiling a new song for [The Promised Neverland],” he captioned the clip. “Which scene will it flow in? Let’s wait for the anime broadcast in January with excitement!”
CloverWorks has yet to release any preview or promotional materials for The Promised Neverland Season 2. However, Comicbook noted a teaser or trailer might be dropped in due time with its scheduled winter 2021 release.
Fans may get their first look at the new season before 2020 ends. It may come in time for the upcoming Jump Festa convention later this year.
The Promised Neverland Season 2 is set to be out on Jan. 7, 2021, in Japan. However, an international release has yet to be announced.
Fans outside Japan may need to wait a little longer before it receives an international release. Netflix, too, remains mum about the coming of much-awaited anime’s second installment.
Netflix started streaming the show’s first season on Sept. 1. With that, the earliest release of The Promised Neverland Season 2 on the streaming giant is possibly in spring 2021.
