The first season of Tokyo Revengers ended on a massive cliffhanger!
The first adaptation of Ken Wakui’s original manga series has been one of the strongest successes of the Spring and Summer anime seasons, and with its current release, it has completed its 24-episode run.
The series is now preparing for an unexpected new status quo, with the Bloody Halloween arc completed and the repercussions from Toman and Valhalla’s major battle settling throughout the final episodes.
Takemichi Hanegaki has achieved a new rank inside the Toman gang, as viewers saw in the season’s last episode.
Toman and Valhalla have formally united
Overall, there have been significant changes, as both Toman and Valhalla have formally united due to the fight. A flashback to Takemichi’s present shows that Kisaki has become much more prominent and celebrated within the organization.
Takemichi, on the other hand, eventually finds himself in a shockingly violent conclusion, and the episode’s closing scenes leave viewers on the anime’s biggest cliffhanger yet.
Following the events of Bloody Halloween, Mikey declares that Toman and Valhalla are now a 450-strong organization, and Kisaki is hailed as one of the heroes who made it all possible.

Takemichi is named commander of the first division (with Chifuyu as his vice-commander), and he is so pleased with how far the group has progressed that he travels back to observe how much has changed.
Toman had grown into a much bigger and more powerful organization, with Takemichi still serving as a high-ranking official.
The unexpected cliffhanger
The twist is that in this reality, Mikey has vanished, and Draken has been executed. Thus Kisaki is now in charge of the gang.
Kisaki, however, murders the adult Chifuyu and prepares to kill the elder Takemichi for betraying him and working against him for the previous 12 years in the dying moments.
As the episode comes to a close, he confesses that he had planned Baji’s killing all along (as suspected) and puts a pistol at Takemichi’s head.
He names Takemichi my hero about something like a tear rolls down his face, and the video fades to dark as a gunshot is heard.
Takemichi’s destiny currently hangs in the balance since the show’s second season has yet to be confirmed.
If the anime never returns, this would be quite the stressful cliffhanger, so perhaps this sort of cliffhanger means that a second season is all but announced.
In any case, this hurts and may encourage some fans to seek out the original manga. But, what were your thoughts on the cliffhanger?
Overall, how did you enjoy Tokyo Revengers’ first season? Would you watch a second season if it was made?
