Blizzard has finally launched the pre-patch for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands bringing with it all the changes that the new expansion will have.
World of Warcraft fans had long anticipated the arrival of Shadowlands. Unfortunately, they are yet to hear from a specific launch date from Blizzard. But this doesn’t mean they have to wait long to see the changes made for the new expansion.
Shadowlands pre-patch now live in North America
The North American World of Warcraft fans can now experience the majority of the updates and improvements happening in Shadowlands. This is because Blizzard had just made the pre-patch live in the region.
Blizzard is also already gearing up for a European launch for the pre-patch. Other regions may have to wait for a while longer but soon enough everyone would have a taste of the updates.
EU launch is next. Stay tuned.

Luckily for Blizzard, fans aren’t complaining much even when the company chose to delay the Shadowlands launch. Many players were disappointed with how the Battle for Azeroth turned out.
This is probably why they want Blizzard to take as much time as they need to develop the new expansion. Many are hoping that Shadowlands would provide a good new start for the World of Warcraft franchise.
Pre-expansion event is delayed
The pre-patch originally was supposed to come with a pre-expansion event called Death Rising. Here, players will need to defend the world from the undead.
The trailer for the new expansion saw Sylvanas defeating the Lich King and ripping the helm of domination which controls the dead. Without someone to rein the Scourge in, they would no doubt wreak havoc on the world.
However, Blizzard decided to delay this event as well until they release a specific date for the launch of the new expansion.
What to expect in the pre-patch
Blizzard had previously released the patch notes for the Shadowlands pre-patch. One of the most noticeable changes in the game would be a level squish, the first time the game has ever done so.
This level squish will have a maximum level cap at 60. This means players at the maximum level in BFA will be squished to level 50 in the new expansion.
Players will also have a new starting area called Exile’s Reach, various new customization options for characters, a “newcomers chat” channel for beginners seeking advise from veterans and more.
So far, Blizzard has not announced when they will launch the new expansion. However, fans can expect Shadowlands to drop before 2020 ends.
