Director and Scriptwriters
Putting the movie into a good hand, Arrival (2015) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017) director Dennis Villeneuve is given the helm for the film. Villeneuve also produced other popular movies such as Enemy, Prisoner, and Sicario.
Working alongside the veteran director, as himself one of the writers, are two fellow writers responsible for the movie’s script. Namely, Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth.
Roth is a seasoned writer of 30 years and is credited for penning the script on movies like Forest Gump, Munich, and A Star is Born.
Spaihts, on the other hand, co-worked with Villeneuve on Prisoner. In addition, he also co-wrote the script used in the films, Prometheus and Doctor Strange.

A Dune Movie Sequel
Based on the interview conducted with Villeneuve by the Vanity Fair, it was revealed that the book series Dune will be getting a duology for the screen. This goes contrary to speculation that the six-book novel is going to be just a single movie.
What’s Dune About?
A book by author Frank Herbert, Dune is set in the fictional planet of Arrakis. The book revolves around a precious commodity and the politics involved with the people therein. Arrakis, according to the book, is the only centerpiece of the said product in the entirety of the galaxy, gravitating on its uniqueness.
As science fiction, the book features elements such as psychic powers and gargantuan underground creatures. Themes will subsequently influence and share with succeeding sci-fi franchises, like Star Wars.
The book was so popular at the time that it got the acclaim of fellow sci-fi writers, Robert Heinlein and Arthur Clarke. With his morale boosted, Herbert subsequently created five more books, making it an expansion and ultimate completion of the Dune’s universe.
Exciting time ahead in anticipation of the Dune movie.
