‘The Walking Dead’ new season in-production trailer revealed

AMC just revealed an in-production trailer for the new season of The Walking Dead. Season 11 will arrive next year after a delay due to COVID-19.

Comicbook reported that the latest trailer of The Walking Dead teases the upcoming episode “Home Sweet Home.” Although it’s not an actual clip from the set, it shows the cast in a virtual conversation. They are seen in their characters and exchanging dialogues while hinting towards the new season 11 in 2021.

The clip basically mixes scenes from past season ten and reveals what’s about to come. And also what the fans can expect. Glimpses of “A Certain Doom,” season 10 finale episode, are also shown in the new video.

The Walking season 11 cast and release details

The anticipated new season will see the reunion of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). For the first time in ten years of the entire show, it will happen that first began in 2010.

It also implies that we will see a flashback sequence of Negan’s untold origin tale. And his late wife, Lucille, will also appear for the first time. The character is played by Hilarie Burton, who’s also Morgan’s real-life wife. Their chemistry will be interesting to watch on the screen.

Previously, AMC had also released a teaser for The Walking Dead: Epic final season. The 24-episode season will eventually arrive next year on the network.

Showrunner Angela Kang also talked about the next installment during the virtual conversation. She focused mainly on diving deep into the characters this time.

Angela Kang said:

“We’ve chosen to go in the other version of The Walking Dead tradition, which is dive really deeply into these really cool character stories. That is also The Walking Dead, and so hopefully, people will enjoy stuff like that. We’ve got. Definitely, a story I think a lot of comic book fans have been waiting for for a long time. And I love the script, and so we’ll get to tease things differently.”

Spin-offs and extensions of the series

The universe of this popular decade-long show is very vast. Apart from the main storyline and ten complete seasons, there are also two extensions of it. Due to the growing praise, AMC, in the past, also rolled out two additional spin-off series based on the main characters.

While Fear The Walking Dead premiered in August 2015, The Walking Dead: World Beyond began in October this year. The latter, however, is just a two-season limited series.
