Fans have been patiently waiting for the coming of The Winds of Winter for almost a decade now. As George R.R. Martin is yet to finish the book, avid followers are closely watching the author’s every move.
Although fans seem to understand that it takes time to finish The Winds of Winter, it looks like they can’t accept the fact that Martin has other things to do. When he shared he re-watched an old movie, they felt like the writer is not focusing on completing the novel.
Fans once again react to Martin’s activities
Fans and readers alike keep an eye on Martin’s life activities to see if he’s working on the sixth book installment to the A Song of Ice and Fire series.
However, by its looks, he has a lot of time to do other activities, like going to events, editing other books, promoting other stuff, and rewatching old movies.
Yup, Martin revealed he recently watched Midnight in Paris again, so fans couldn’t help themselves but to ask him to work on The Winds of Winter instead of doing other stuff.
“A few weeks ago, while up in my mountain fastness, I rewatched MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, “he said in a tweet. “[The] writer visiting modern the Woody Allen film about a struggling Paris (played by Owen Wilson) who finds himself traveling back in time to Paris of the 20s.”
Martin even managed to write an entire blog about it that angered fans more. According to BlockToro, some said he had time to write blogs and watch an old movie but not to write a few pages for the book.
However, some also let Martin do his own thing, not rushing him to finish the novel. Anyhow, although he owns millions of readers several failed book releases, he still has his private life and he can do what he wants.

The book’s different from the show
It’s quite understandable that thousands of fans, if not millions, are eager to get their hands on The Winds of Winter. They all want to see how Martin will end the series after HBO’s Game of Thrones failed to give it a proper ending.
American journalist James Hibberd revealed he knew how ASOIAF would end, teasing it would be “very different” from the show.
“He has his own very different versions of certain events coming in the books,” he said, about Martin, via Express. “He surprised me by giving one example on the record that I included in the book [on how Hodor’s death will be different].”
Martin, allegedly, said he thought the series executed Hodor’s death very well. Although Hibberd didn’t reveal Martin’s reaction about it, he said it would be different in the novel.
“In the book, Hodor has stolen one of the old swords from the crypt,” Hibberd continued. “Telling Hodor to ‘hold the door’ is more like ‘hold this pass’ — defend it when enemies are coming — and Hodor is fighting and killing them.”
Although it has the same idea, it has different execution.
“Based on what I’ve been told, yes, I think Martin’s ending will be very different,” Hibberd teased.
This revelation surely made fans wait for The Winds of Winter even more.
