Fans have been waiting for George RR Martin to complete The Winds of Winter for almost a decade but still to no avail.
It looks like the novelist is still far from finishing The Winds of Winter after teasing he is way “far behind” one of his projects. Though Martin did not reveal it as the much-awaited book itself, many believed he was pertaining to it.
Fans’ Lengthy Waiting Game
Fans now feel frustrated for continuously waiting for the sixth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series.
Things even worsen when the book and Games of Thrones’ followers alike are eager to see the epic fantasy tale’s ending after the HBO show fiasco.
Viewers did not like how the series ended on TV, so they now wanted to know the fates of Jon Snow, Daenerys, Cersei, Jamie, and the rest of the cast on the novel.
But unless Martin manages to finish The Winds of Winter, they will not learn what really happens to them.

A Few Hints about The Winds of Winter Release
Martin has been dropping a few hints about the sixth book’s release or lack thereof amidst the lengthy delay.
Earlier this year, the short story writer said on his blog that he already wrote hundreds of pages for the book and started making progress.
However, he also revealed he had to rewrite some chapters and worked on other projects at the same time. According to BlockToro, these things resulted in the further delay of The Winds of Winter.
Martin also hinted before that it would take him a long way before he could finally finish the novel. Sadly, it might take him another year or two before he could complete it.
It is known.

A Long Journey to Write
The last entry for the A Song of Ice and Fire book series was A Dance with Dragons in 2011. Since then, fans have been waiting for the next book installment.
Martin said that the blog he used to communicate with his fans had now become obligated to update them about his projects.
“And when a lot of stuff happens very fast, I fall further and further behind,” he said, per Entertainment Weekly!
“I am hugely behind right now, and the prospect of trying to catch up is feeling increasingly oppressive,” he added.
Though he didn’t reveal if it is a The Winds of Winter update, many believed it is and it looks like fans could not still get their hands on this book anytime soon.
