The Witcher season 2 is one of Netflix’s highly anticipated fantasy-drama series arriving sometime in 2021. Moreover, Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia teases new enemies.
Just last month, Superman actor, Henry Cavill who plays Geralt of Rivia, and the rest of the production team were filming in Northern England. Now, Netflix has released new footage on what to expect for The Witcher season 2. As part of the Holloween festivities, the series releases sweet treats for the fans.
The Witcher follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter who seeks to protect the princess of Cintra. With the cliffhanger ending in season 1, fans are now anticipating what the future holds for Geralt and Ciri.
“The Witcher” season 2 new footage revealed
The clip, which features two new monsters, appeared on the series’ official social media accounts on Saturday. Although the clip is part of the Holloween treat, fans are swift to notice that the footage carries important revelations for season 2.
The footage reveals three skulls bound together and clothed in jewelry and thin cloth that covers their heads. Another monster looks like grass or hay that is covered in blood, which moves in the ground. Although, nothing yet is confirmed if these monsters will become Geralt’s enemies or allies.
Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra films together
Freya and Anya are filming together on location at the Low Force Waterfall in County Durham. It appears that Ciri finally meets Yeneffer and are traveling together across the countryside. Furthermore, season 2 will mark the start of Yennefer and Ciri’s friendship. In the novel Blood of Elves, it highlights the developing friendship of the two women. Season 2 will likely adopt the novel’s narrative.

In the scene, Ciri and Yennefer appear to be crossing a river, but the bridge has collapsed. Knowing Yennefer’s ability, she and Ciri will use magic to repair the bridge and allow safe passage.
On a side note, Eamon Farren and Mimi Ndiweni, who plays Cahir and sorceress Fringilla Vigo, respectively, films in the beautiful ruins of Fountain Abbeys. Cahir and sorceress Fringilla are members of the powerful empire of Nilfgaard. Thus, season 2 will likely bring a great battle between the Nilfgaard and Geralt’s company.
What to expect from the second season
The second installment will follow Geralt and Ciri’s encounter. While many enemies want to hunt down Ciri, Geralt will take her to a safe place, his childhood home of Kaer Morhe.
The Witcher season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
