Just when everyone’s attention was on a Marvel-based game from Firaxis, a separate studio has launched an XCOM spin-off on mobile!
Iridium Starfish has released its title called XCOM Legends for Android on the Google Play Store. Interestingly, it’s an official spin-off from Firaxis’ series.
‘XCOM’ spin-off game details
The recently announced XCOM mobile game for Android is free-to-play. However, it’s still in its development phase.
The title is only available in certain regions as of now. But its gameplay footage is already available on YouTube.
The spin-off on the Play Store is played vertically and is turn-based. When it comes to movement, you can only decide the selection of your hero to put behind covers.
The player rushes from one five-on-five battle to the next. Also, there is a five-turn cooldown when repositioning.
Legends are set in the XCOM 2 timeline. And due to that, you will also find many familiar faces of the resistance between various missions.
During the tutorial session, you also receive an alien device called Archway. It lets you summon iconic heroes or artifacts in exchange for premium currency.
In this spin-off, you can also supplement your regular squadmates with extra powerful, premade characters.
When you are not playing, your gear and resources are collected by IDLE. In its full form, it’s called the Integrated Drone Looting Experience.
