It’s been a long ride for Mortal Kombat since it was initially announced years ago. There were many obstacles in its production due to a lot of issues. Eventually, the work began in 2016, and the shooting went underway in 2019 with James Wan as the producer.
Upcoming Warner Bros movies
Meanwhile, the work for Warner Bros. has doubled up this year after it announced releasing new movies simultaneously on its streaming service as well as in cinemas.
Despite the pandemic, it somehow managed to tackle the problem. However, the impact of its decision has been average. Its native streaming platform HBO Max isn’t counted among the most popular services yet. And that might affect the upcoming launch of many of its big-budget films.
Still, the studio is trying to manage a lot of huge titles at the moment. Some of the most-awaited Warner Bros. properties right now are Godzilla vs. Kong, Justice League Snyder Cut, The Suicide Squad, and live-action Tom & Jerry movie.
Coming back to Mortal Kombat, it’s set to release on April 16, 2021, on HBO Max as well as in theaters.
