There may be four iPhone 12 models in three different screen sizes: the iPhone 12 (5.4-inch), 12 Max (6.1-inch), 12 Pro (6.1-inch) and 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch).
Apple has warned the iPhone 12 range will be delayed, but the company may have just leaked a surprising new release date. Aside from that, a leaked image is also getting attention and reports claim that it could be Apple’s 2020 iPhone lineup.
The Alleged iPhone 12 Lineup
Apple will possibly announce four new iPhones before the end of this year. With the arrival of the new flagships, some old ones will be discontinued, as reported by Phonearena. A Twitter tipster seems to know which models will stay once the iPhone 12 line is revealed.
Komiya, on Twitter, claims that the upcoming iPhone lineup will include the iPhone SE, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11, in addition to the new models. This information is disputed by a tipster who claims that the iPhone XR will also be discontinued.
The iPhone 11 was launched at a starting price of $699, and reports show that the upcoming basic model might start at $649. If the iPhone 11 is indeed staying, it’s given that Apple will slash its price and according to the latest rumor, it will retail for $549 after the launch of the new phones – which is the iPhone 12.
Apple may introduce new screen sizes for its upcoming iPhone lineup. One of the iPhone 12s could have a 5.4-inch screen and the iPhone 2020 Pro Max could go as large as 6.7 inches.
There’s also speculation that the iPhone 12’s display will have a 120Hz refresh rate and that perhaps the iPhone 12 Pro may have a ProMotion display, which is currently featured on the iPad Pro. Most phones refresh at 60 frames per second or 60Hz, but other flagships, like the Galaxy S20 and the OnePlus 8 Pro, refresh at 120Hz.
With a higher refresh rate, a phone feels faster and smoother when scrolling through things like web pages and apps. However, Apple should work this out more since they are releasing 5G model devices.
Apple May Announce New Lineup on Sept. 10
With Apple leaking a Sept. 10 event date on its YouTube channel and iOS 14 available for public beta, rumors and speculation about the iPhone 12, 12 Pro and 12 Max are reaching a groundswell.
Apple said the iPhone 12 would be available “a few weeks later” than the usual mid-September launch. So, an official October release date is possible.
