Carole Baskin made a bold announcement on Monday when she admitted that she considers herself as bisexual. The Big Cat rescue founder said that she has the same feelings for both men and women.
In an interview with Pink News, weeks after she was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars, Carole Baskin admitted that she worked with the LGBT+ people in the 1980s. It was at the time when she realized her sexuality.
“I was engaged to a psychologist, and that was his entire field, dealing with the LGBT+ community,” Baskin said.
“It was during the period when AIDS was just wreaking havoc around the world, and people were losing their loved ones, and so I became very close to people in that community then.”
Carole Baskit has always considered herself as a bisexual. In fact, at one point she felt that she was born in the wrong body because she was such a “tomboy.”
According to Baskin, she was very male-oriented in almost everything she did. She lacks mothering instincts and has never played with dolls.
Due to that, she felt that there was something off in herself. However, she couldn’t figure out what it was.
“LGBT+ community that I [realised] I had just as equal feelings for women as I did for men.”
“I have always considered myself to be bisexual. Even though I’ve never had a wife, I could just as easily have a wife as a husband,” she went on.
“As far as the way I feel about us, I think we are all one and I just don’t see us as being different genders or different colours or anything.”
Joe Exotic was convicted for trying to hire someone to kill animal right activist Carole Baskin in November 2017. When Baskin was asked about her thoughts of Exotic, the gay redneck tiger breeder representing the queer community, she didn’t give a positive response.
Instead, she thinks he is an embarrassment to the human community. She explained that it’s not a matter of sexuality, but Exotic is “deviant in the way that he treats human life and animal life.”
She added that the Tiger King is a “malignant narcissist” and only thinks of himself.
In April, Exotic was sentenced for the murder-for-hire plot and several wildlife violations. He will serve 22 years of imprisonment, CNN reported.
