Tiger Woods is allegedly planning to retire from gold and is miserable with his condition, according to a tabloid.
Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident in February. He has recovered, but he is still working on returning to his old self on the golf course. However, one outlet claimed that he is already planning for retirement.
Tiger Woods may not return to playing golf rumor
Tiger Woods made a name in golf. However, he might not play again because his competition days are already behind him, National Enquirer reported.
It has been nine months since the car accident. Woods suffered multiple serious injuries and is still dealing with intense shape. His condition allegedly held him back from resuming his career.
“He’s in bad shape and has pain all the time, even though he tried to mask it to the public,” an unnamed source told the outlet.
The athlete is allegedly going through grueling physical therapy. Each time he takes a few swings, he suffers from it, for the rest of the day. He is allegedly miserable and has a hard time accepting the situation. The source added that he will never be the same again and the chronic pain is making his life a misery.
Woods’ retirement report debunked
Gossip Cop examined the story and found it extremely unlikely. While it’s true that the professional golf player has taken some time to recover, he has made great progress.
Also, there is no evidence that he is in crippling pain. In November, he even shared a video of him swinging to get himself ready for another tournament.
However, Woods said that he would be picky and accepted that he would never be the same again. In a recent interview with Golf Digest, Woods shared his plans and retirement was not on the card. But he admitted that he would be slowing down moving forward.
“I think something that is realistic is playing the tour one day — never full time, ever again — but pick and choose,” he said.
Tiger had embraced his fate, unlike the report claiming that he was miserable. “It’s an unfortunate reality, but it’s my reality. And I understand it, and I accept it,” he added.
Yes, Tiger is not retiring. He will still play, but he won’t be as competitive as he used to be. The golf player even used an analogy comparing his career to climbing Mt. Everest.
According to him, he doesn’t need to compete against the best players in the world. He explained that he doesn’t have the body to climb Mt. Everest, but he could still participate in golf. He also stressed that he doesn’t have to do it again, suggesting that he has reached the peak.
“But as far as climbing the mountain again and getting all the way to the top, I don’t think that’s a realistic expectation of me,” the golfer explained.
