Tiger Woods: Iconic golfer’s career in jeopardy following car accident

Share

Tiger Woods suffered from multiple injuries after getting involved in a car accident. Unfortunately, this will cause long-term negative effects on his life, especially in his career.

On Tuesday, Tiger Woods underwent surgery to correct the serious injuries he sustained in Tuesday’s car accident. After the unfortunate event happened, the golfer himself knew it would affect him and his career.

In an interview with People, a source close to Woods revealed that the golfer will need to make serious decisions as he tries to recover from the crash.

“He doesn’t want his career to end like this. So if there’s any way at all that he can continue playing golf, he will,” the insider went on.

The 45-year-old athlete crashed his car around 7:12 a.m. near the Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes.

His agent, Mark Steinberg, confirmed the news and added that Woods needed to undergo surgery.

“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries,” Steinberg said, as quoted by Fox News. “He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”

Woods drove his Genesis GV80 SUV from a hotel going to Rolling Hills County Club where he had a scheduled shooting.

He remained conscious until he was rushed to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Lr. Michael White disclosed that the golfer only has “non-life-threatening” injuries.

Will Woods receive charges?

Following the accident, people began to question whether the golfer should receive legal charges. Woods could possibly serve the prison once proven guilty of violating a traffic law.

Through an Instagram live stream, county Sheriff Alex Villanueva clarified that Woods will not receive any criminal charges.

“We don’t contemplate any charges whatsoever in this crash. This remains an accident. An accident is not a crime. They do happen, unfortunately,” Villanueva explained.

Though he drove his car at a very high speed, the Sheriff believes that the crash did not meet the criteria for reckless driving charges.

In addition, the deputy on the scene discovered no evidence of any impairment. At the time of the accident, Woods was calm and normal. There was no odor of alcohol or any evidence of drugs or alcohol that would cause him to be in question.

Currently, Tiger Woods remains at the hospital as he recovers from the injuries.
