Recently, the nearly 100-year-old TIME Magazine has announced that it has signed a deal with Cool Cats for its latest NFT venture. Cool Cats is a collection of programmatically and randomly generated NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.
TIME president Keith A. Grossman said that he himself is a big fan of Cool Cats and added that the NFT collection fits perfectly with the company’s vision for TIME’s foray into NFTs.
Grossman said that Cool Cats sends a message of positivity, optimism, family, friendliness, and this wholesome image is what attracted TIME to collaborate with the amazing collection.
He even tweeted a TIME Magazine December 7, 1981 issue, where it features a cat face as its cover to mark the magazine’s partnership with the Cool Cats.
Cool Cats’ TIME to shine
“We had to create something that showcases the TIME front cover … what better way to do that than with the four founder Cats,” Grossman said.
As a result of TIME and Cool Cats’ partnership, they were able to produce eye-candy digital artworks that would certainly attract a lot of NFT enthusiasts (especially those who love cats).
The NFT collection features four cats who are reading, what else, TIME magazines. According to Cool Cats, it has successfully minted a total of 400 artworks, 100 per founder.
Cool Cats meme competition
Aside from the innovative partnership, Cool Cats has also launched a meme competition, not only for its community but also for everybody. Cool Cats will pick eight lucky winners in the contest, and each winner will receive one of the four NFTs it has minted for TIME.
It will then raffle the remaining 392 NFTs to those who participated in the competition. Cool Cats also reminded that these remaining NFTs are only available to Cool Cats holders. The competition will end on August 20.
