Tituss Burgess had a body transformation amid the pandemic crisis.
Tituss Burgess is one of the nominees for Emmys Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Limited Series or Movie. He received his fifth nomination after reprising his role as Titus Andromedon for Kimmy Schmidt‘s Netflix interactive special.
Before the Emmys awarding ceremony, the Broadway star made some “arrangements” during the lockdown period to help him achieve a much fitter physique. He revealed his body transformation on the pre-show, according to Page Six.
Tituss Burgess went “under the knife”
Tituss Burgess confessed that he wanted to have “nip tucks” amid the pandemic crisis. He added that he has “nothing to hide” following his surgeries.
The actor explained that this came after his weight has gone “up and down,” causing the skin to get a “little saggy.” So, he decided to “cut” it off, allowing him to achieve his new look.
He also “joked” about getting abs, adding that he is “still working” on it. But, even without the abs, he said that he thinks of his body transformation as “amazing.”
The “look” during the Emmys
This year’s Emmys showed several celebrities in their “more casual attire.” Some even opted to wear pajamas, while others went without undergarments.
For Tituss Burgess, he wore a red track jacket and shorts from the Lee Rickie Collection. He completed the look with a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti red sneakers.
The actor credited his stylists and the brands for his “Look #1” on Instagram. He asked his followers to wait for his “second look” as the caption of the two photos.
About his Emmy nominations
Earlier in August, Burgess shared his thoughts about his Emmy nominations. Speaking to PeopleTV’s CouchSurfing, the actor discussed earning his “fifth” one for the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt role, according to Entertainment Weekly.
He said that the recognition “never goes lost” on him. He continued that this is a result of the awareness about how much “representation matters.”
The publication noted that Burgess is only one of the handful openly LGBTQ Black actors who have continued to receive a nod from the Emmys. The celebrity then went on to describe what he feels when obtaining a nomination.
He said that the first nomination reminded him of the time when he was watching Barack Obama receiving the Democratic nomination. Tituss Burgess realized that it was a “profound moment” in the history of people of color, who are also part of the LGBTQ+ community.
