Tom Cruise has, reportedly, been isolating himself ever since his divorce from Katie Holmes because he was traumatized by all the gossip.
According to Woman’s Day, Tom Cruise doesn’t want to be accused of anything anymore. And he has gone tired of all the allegations thrown at him after his last marriage ended.
“Tom keeps very much to himself. He was so burned by the world turning on him after Katie divorced him that he trusts no one. He spends most of his days working on his own stunts for his action movies, but he’s starting to realize he’s not the bankable star he once was either, which hurts,” the source said.
Tom Cruise traumatized by all the rumors
According to the source, the Mission: Impossible star also hated how the tabloids preyed on his relationship with Holmes. After all, they claimed that the actor held wife auditions before meeting the Dawson’s Creek star.
“Tom was humiliated when that got out and has retreated from the dating scene. There have been women who are interested – including his co-star, Hayley Atwell, but she’s wary of it all turning into a circus,” the source said.
Tom Cruise scared to fall in love again
Cruise is also, allegedly, terrified of picking the wrong woman again. After all, he’s already been married thrice.
“He wishes he had a special someone, but his trust issues get in the way,” the source said.
The insider also claimed that Cruise has recently become a recluse and it’s partially because he’s also suffering from a midlife crisis.
“It’s something of a midlife crisis and if he’s not careful, by laying low he’ll fade into obscurity – which is ironically his biggest fear,” the source said.
Rumors debunked
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. There is still no proof that Cruise is going through a midlife crisis. There’s also no proof that he’s been isolating himself.
In fact, Tom Cruise has just been seen in public earlier this year while he was in London filming for his upcoming movie. It is possible that Cruise hasn’t been spotted in public as often as before because of the coronavirus pandemic.
