Tom Hanks resumes shooting for Elvis Presley’s biopic in Australia. The filming halted in March after Tom Hanks tested positive for COVID-19.
Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film, the biopic about Elvis Presley, is starting production once again as Tom Hanks returns to Australia after recovering from the deadly virus, COVID-19.
The production on the film was stopped earlier this year in March when the 64-year-old actor became one of the first famous people to test positive for the coronavirus and his wife, Rita Wilson, while waiting to start shooting.
Shoot resumes in Queensland
As reported by Pinkvilla, one of the crew members has informed that the film’s production will restart on 23rd September, in Queensland. The crew member also spoke about how it’s a privilege for the entire crew to resume production in such unprecedented times and that they are all just glad to have Tom Hanks back on set with other actors like Austin Butler.
The crew member also thanked the people of Queensland and the government for showing their full support to the cast and crew and how it has led to an example of continuing productivity and creativity safely in such trying times.
Tom Hanks opens up about surviving COVID-19
The Forrest Gump actor suffered from the coronavirus in March, along with his wife, Rita Wilson. Both of them contracted the virus in Australia while shooting for the biopic and later returned to Los Angeles after they got their results that stated they were positive with the deadly virus.
He also shared the symptoms he and his wife went through and how it was different for both of them. While Tom had severe body aches and fatigue, Rita Wilson suffered from loss of smell and taste, nausea, and a high fever.

Tom Hanks even appealed to the masses about the basic three things they should do: wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and wash hands. Tom Hanks even kept his fans posted about his and his wife’s health status on social media.
In an interview, Rita Wilson claimed that this time in quarantine has been creative and reflective for her. She even spoke about a Socrates quote, which says, ‘Beware of the barrenness of busy life,’ and how she was thinking about it and reflecting on it during her time being quarantined and considering what’s important.
Now that Tom Hanks has returned safely, a lot of his fans are eagerly anticipating the release of his portrayal as Elvis Presley.
