Gameplay features
The third entry in the dungeon-crawling series is set to bring more than just visual and performance upgrades. The developers have thrown in a ton of new gameplay elements to keep the experience fresh as well.
One of the unique new additions is the Railmaster class. Based on what we’ve seen so far, the Railmaster is indeed the master of trains in Torchlight 3. Some players of the early access note that it is one of the toughest classes in the series. However, they felt that playing as the other classes felt too easy.
Overall, players comment that the game doesn’t offer much of a challenge as compared to previous entries.
The biggest new feature is fort customization. Early in the game, players can unlock their own fortress. They’ll be able to get more customization items through quests and simple progression in the game. This fortress will serve as an operating base or a home hub for the players.
Eventually, players can visit the forts of others. Some customization items can interact, so players can do more than just walking around while visiting others. This unique feature is catered to further pad the game with more replayability. So far, the reception on it has been great.
Torchlight 3 has been eagerly anticipated by fans. It’s not just a simple Diablo clone, but it is perhaps the best one out there. Some fans argue that it’s even the best isometric dungeon crawler there is. Hopefully, the third game in the series hits the mark once again.
