On November 19, the 2020 APAN Music Awards and 2020 APAN Star Awards were first rescheduled because of the surging COVID-19 cases in Korea.
According to the organizing committee, the decision is more likely due to the new social distancing guidelines.
They raised the level of social distancing to 1.5 in Seoul and its surrounding areas. This tailed the gathering of over 100 people at stadiums, theaters, and concert halls.
November 28 was the initial schedule for the 2020 APAN Music Awards. On the other hand, November 29 for the 2020 APAN Star Awards.
However, due to artists’ heightened safety concerns and involved personnel, the committee recently divulged new changes.
January 23 and 24 next year is the new schedule of the said awards shows, respectively.
According to Kang Min, the APAN Awards committee chairman, there is a growing social concern about the rising COVID-19 cases.
And now, their top priority is the prevention and safety of the artists, staff, and officials.
Son Sung Min also reiterated that they are also putting a lot of time and effort into preparing for the award ceremony’s success.
More to this, they will keep close tabs on the situation and aims for successful award ceremonies. This is in consideration of the necessary health protocols.
