Part of the pre-show program of the September Ubisoft Forward was a list of the gaming giant’s VR titles, including Far Cry VR.
Far Cry 6 was one of the great highlights in the last Ubisoft Forward. This September, a VR title for the same franchise was introduced.
Aside from Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity, there were two other VR titles showcased—AGOS: A Game of Space and Notre Dame In Paris: A Journey Back In Time.
Ubisoft Forward pre-show: “Far Cry VR: Dive Into Insanity”
This new VR experience is in partnership with Zero Latency VR. The title is set to hit the virtual shelves next year, 2021. It’ll be made exclusive to Zero Latency VR locations, which 45 venues in 22 countries.
In the United States, there’s nine. Meanwhile, in Australia, there’s only five. The United Kingdom, on the other hand, only has three.
The game is going to be a VR spin-off of Far Cry 3. It can take a “group of up to eight players back to the Rook Islands,” per Zero Latency VR’s official press release.
“It’s going to be a special experience for fans to return to Rook Island in this incredibly immersive new way,” says Tim Ruse, the CEO of Zero Latency VR.
“Notre Dame In Paris: A Journey Back In Time”
The Notre Dame In Paris: A Journey Back In Time is not exactly a game but a virtual journey through the scenic Notre-Dame Cathedral before it got burned severely by fire in April 2019.
While the historic location undergoes restoration, Ubisoft will give the public the opportunity to experience a magical tour—all thanks to its “accurate depiction” from Assassin’s Creed: Unity.
This title is now made available in Oculus.
“AGOS: A Game of Space”
Lastly, the AGOS title is a space exploration adventure. It is an interstellar VR survival adventure.
According to Engadget, players will take on the role of an AI guiding survivors from Earth to find a new home in space. So the survivors will need to find a new habitual plant across the “eight unique stellar systems.”
For its overall experience, the same publication describes the title similar to that SpaceX Crew Dragon simulator. But, in this case, it’s going to be in VR.
Also, it might give the players the same vibe—music and cinematography-wise—of Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar.
AGOS: A Game of Space is set for an October 28 release. It’ll be made available both on Steam and on the Oculus Rift Store.
