Well, it was evident with the announcement of a new Division mobile and free-to-play game. But many people took time in understanding that all future Ubisoft games will be termed Ubisoft Original.
The publisher will also hold a press conference of its own during this year’s awaited E3 2021 in June.
A new branding strategy means that Ubisoft will ensure that all its future games are developed under its team of talented developers.
The Ubisoft Original label first made its appearance last week. It was when Far Cry publisher unveiled a free-to-play The Division version.
Along with the spin-off The Division: Heartland, there will be a mobile title as well. Its details will come up in the coming months.
When asked about the new term by a news outlet, Ubisoft confirmed it officially.
“Moving forward, ‘The Ubisoft Original’ mention is attached to all of Ubisoft’s games created in-house by our talented developers.”
Well, even despite this branding, Ubisoft has to release chiefly all in-house games so far. That is, most of its releases aren’t from any external studio.
But yes, one main reason behind giving a new term may be that it will provide a sense of oneness to all the entries.
Also, even if it decides to include an external developer in the future, Ubisoft Original label will help in differentiating between them so that it will become easy to classify in-house and outside titles.
Meanwhile, all the die-hard gaming enthusiasts are currently waiting for a big wave of AAA titles this year.
And speaking of some of the most-awaited potential blockbusters, there is Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Far Cry 6.
But that’s not it!
The line-up extends further with Dying Light 2, STALKER 2, Deathloop, New World, and GhostWire: Tokyo.
Stray, Biomutant, No More Heroes 3, Psychonauts 2, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and Back 4 Blood are other crucial launches.
What do you think about all the major games arriving later this year? Are you excited and hyped for trying them out?
