‘Valheim’ sells two million copies, becomes 2021’s smash hit

Developer Iron Gate has witnessed a colossal profit thanks to massive sales of Valheim. The game sold two million copies in less than two weeks!

According to Games Industry, Valheim has sold two million units just under two weeks after its release. Iron Gate Studio is the developer behind the latest blockbuster title.

The game is a survivor, Viking-style project.

“Valheim” is the smash hit of the new year!

Apart from witnessing two million sales in just two weeks, Valheim also gained a peak of 360,000 concurrent Steam players. Iron Gate Studio shared the news while informing about the title’s brilliant performance.

Surprisingly, the figure then increased further with more than 392,000 players on Steam. That’s impressive for the developers who worked on the project. And it’s a good thing when it comes to revenues as well.

Valheim was also among the most played games on Steam at the time of writing. Other heavyweights competing with it were Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

What’s remarkable about this Iron Gate title is that only five people worked on it entirely, while Coffee Stain published it. It arrived on the Early Access on Steam on February second and sold one million copies in its first week. Along with that, it gained a peak of 160,000 concurrent players as well in the early seven days.

As a plus point, it also reached 127,000 peak Twitch viewers.

By combining all these achievements, the game is undoubtedly a smash hit of the new year, no doubt. And it seems like it will continue dominating other future releases, at least till the next four-five weeks.
