Riot Games has finally launched Valorant, its new tactical first-person-shooter. Here’s how you can download and install the game.
Valorant is now officially live. The highly awaited tactical shooter game was first introduced to the public back in April. While only a select number of players were able to participate in the closed beta, the game had garnered quite the following.
Streams for the Valorant closed beta remained at the top of Twitch in terms of viewership. The closed beta debuted to over a million viewers on Twitch. Popular streamers such as Ninja and Shroud also began streaming the game, and it only helped in furthering the Valorant’s popularity.
Now, everyone can finally play the game. Here is a simple guide to help soon-to-be Valorant players download and install the game.
Downloading Valorant
The first step is really simple. All one has to do is visit the game’s official website. People don’t need to explore the site to find where they can download the game. This is because upon entering the site, the first thing they will see is a call-to-action encouraging visitors to download the game.
Once there, the only thing to do is to download the client.

Running the client
After downloading the game, one needs to run the file and then install it. This is a no-brainer. Installing the game would take around 7.5G of storage space.
However, players would easily be able to change the game’s install path. This can be done by simply clicking the “advanced options” button, and then players can choose the location where the game will be installed.

Signing in
To start playing, one must have a Riot account. League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics would no doubt have an existing Riot account. They only need to sign in to play Valorant.
People who don’t have a Riot account can make one here.
Don’t use VPNs
When creating an account or playing Valorant, avoid using virtual private networks (VPNs). This is because accounts are automatically tied to the region where they registered. This means that if a player is from the Asia-Pacific region, they would only be able to play in the Asia-Pacific server.
Valorant, stylized as VALORANT, is Riot’s first major project since they launched League of Legends about a decade ago. The game is a five-versus-five tactical shooter game, mixing both fantasy and sci-fi elements in the game.
Upon its launch, Valorant will feature a new map as well as a new agent for players to enjoy.
