Vanessa Bryant denies evicting her mom from family home following Kobe’s death

Vanessa Bryant is the talk of the town after her mother, Sofia Laine, claimed she was kicked out from her daughter’s home. It allegedly happened after her son-in-law Kobe Bryant passed away.

Laine had an interview with Univision in a Spanish show called El Gorda y La Flaca. She was interviewed by Dave Valadez, who saw Vanessa Bryant’s mother shedding tears as she describes the rift with her daughter.

The allegation against Vanessa Bryant

Laine claimed that her 38-year-old daughter forced her to leave and demanded the return of the car she has been using.

“She told me, ‘I need you to get out of this house,'” she told Valadez. “She also told me that she wanted her car and she wants it now.”

Laine did not explain the cause of her conflict with Vanessa Bryant. Thus, it is not clear why the mother and daughter are feuding.

Before this falling out, Vanessa’s mother is often seen with family when Kobe and her granddaughter Gianna were still alive. Last Thanksgiving, she and her daughter took a picture together to remember the day.

According to The Sun, Laine lived in one of the Bryant family’s homes in Newport Beach, but this was sold in 2013. She eventually moved into her daughter’s family home, where she claimed to have been evicted.

Vanessa responds to her mom’s interview

Vanessa Bryant responded to her mother’s “tearful” interview by denying the allegations against her. She was forced to defend herself because Sofia Laine’s claims were just too much.

Kobe Bryant’s widow slammed her mother for the audacity to accuse her of something she did not do. She blasted Laine for claiming she was ousted from the family home.

Vanessa stated that her mother was never there for them, physically or emotionally, since her husband and daughter died. Rather, she said her mother cried for the material things that were not even hers.

“My husband and daughter passed away unexpectedly and yet my mom has the audacity to do an interview on TV,” she told People magazine in a statement. “Talking negatively about me while shedding tears about a car and home that wasn’t in her name.”

Vanesa Bryant also accused her mom of pretending she did not get any support from her. She went on to reveal Laine has been receiving not only financial help from them.

“She has removed all her diamond jewelry, emptied her apartment that I provide, and put the furniture in storage to appear as though she is without support,” Vanessa asserted. “My husband and I have financially supported her over the past 20 years, and I continue to do so, in addition to her monthly alimony.”

At the end of her interview, Vanessa Bryant said that she can now see what is most important to her mom, which hurts. She now hopes that the public airing of her and her mother’s relationship will end here.
