Riverdale’s star Vanessa Morgan took her pregnancy announcement to Instagram last week. She, later on, posted a set of photos featuring the highlights of her gender-reveal party.
The 28-year-old actress said in the caption that her baby boy has already brought her happiness and “a greater purpose.” She also expressed her excitement toward meeting her son.
Following Vanessa Morgan’s pregnancy posts on social media, it became a surprise when reports said that her husband filed for divorce a month earlier. As it happened, White Sox’s pitcher, Michael Kopech, filed the papers on June 19, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Amid the divorce headlines, sources clarified that he is the father of the actress’s son. As for the details about the divorce, both the soon-to-be-parents have yet to break their silence.
The publication stated, however, that Kopech filed the divorce papers in Morris County, in northeast Texas where he grew up. Also, there is reportedly no hearing date yet.
Michael Kopech and Vanessa Morgan officially tied the knot in January, according to E! News. The wedding was reportedly an intimate one, which had a bohemian theme. The actress, later on, referred to it as her “fairy-tale dream.”
Some of the Riverdale co-stars were also present including Skeet Ulrich and Drew Ray Tanner. As for her on-screen partner, Madelaine Petsch served as a bridesmaid.
Reports noted that they got engaged last summer. They then decided to tie the knot after a year of dating.
Months into their marriage, Vanessa Morgan had paid tribute to her husband on social media. She reportedly posted several photos of Kopech, sharing her love and appreciation toward him.
The Riverdale star last posted a photo of them in April to mark her husband’s birthday. But, she has since stopped sharing updates about her marriage.
When she revealed her pregnancy, her posts also reportedly centered on her and her baby. Some wondered, then, why Michael Kopech was missing. But, they never responded to the queries, even in today’s reports.
On Kopech’s part, sources said that he has no active social media accounts. He prefers to “fly under the radar,” the reports added.
The most recent update about him, though, revealed that he would not participate in this year’s season due to “personal reasons.” This reportedly emerged before the divorce claims between him and Vanessa Morgan came into light.
