Verizon announces that it will acquire the Kentucky based wireless service providing company Bluegrass Cellular.
The American telecommunication company Verizon announced on Monday that they “agree” to buy Bluegrass Cellular. Verizon owned Yahoo recently announced the shut down of Yahoo Groups in December 2020. However, this deal between Verizon and Bluegrass Cellular expects Verizon to extend its wireless service further.

Bluegrass Cellular
Bluegrass is a CDMA transporter in Kentucky. The company provides several services. Such as voice/phone features, fun features, data services, push-to-talk services, mobile office solutions equipment insurance, and paging services. Moreover, they also offer phones and accessories.
Bluegrass Cellular has stores in cities, including Elizabethtown, Glasgow, London, Monticello, Radcliff, Somerset, Tompkinsville, etc.
The company, though, provides service to over 200,000 customers in 34 countries in rural service areas 3, 4, and 5 in central Kentucky.
The company Bluegrass Cellular, Inc., however, was founded in 1991 and is currently based in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Verizon’s horizon

Verizon-Bluegrass acquisition
Verizon releases the statement that says that they have “agreed” to buy Bluegrass Cellular. The statement was released yesterday, 19th October 2020.
The Executive Vice President and the Group CEO of Verizon Groups, Ronan Dunne, says that they are excited to buy certain Bluegrass Cellular equities to “expand their footprints” in Kentucky. In addition to this, Dunne welcomes all the Bluegrass employees and customers to the Verizon family. They are also looking forward to providing them with reliable wireless service besides a “best-in-class” client experience.
On the other hand, the President of Bluegrass, Ron Smith, shows confidence in the acquisition. He says that he is confident that Verizon will continue to be a “same good neighbor” and provide essential and reliable wireless services in rural societies.
Bluegrass releases a statement for its customers, saying that they don’t need to take any actions this time. In that statement, they inform their customers that they are working closely with Verizon to establish a “smooth” and “seamless” changeover. They assure the customers that once the acquisition closes, they will receive information regarding the array of services available to them from Verizon.
The acquisition, however, is subject to FCC approval and other circumstances. Nevertheless, the deal is expected to close later this year or early next year.
