The mobile port of League of Legends, Wild Rift, is set to take its first-ever eSports event. Here’s what we know so far.
Riot Games saw success in its publicized beta phase in Valorant. Partnerships formed through eSports events even before the game launched globally. It appears that Riot will replicate that success with its League of Legends: Wild Rift.
The mobile version of LoL is set to open its regional open beta on October 23. On the same day, Verizon will host an eSports invitational, featuring the immense mobile gaming capacity of the iPhone 12 5G.
The first-ever Wild Rift eSports event
Mobile gaming has proven to be the latest revolution in the industry, including in the eSports arena.

That said, the first Wild Rift Invitational presented by Verizon is happening on October 22 at 9:30 PM ET / 6:30 PM PT. Avid fans and game enthusiasts can watch the event on Twitch via the Twitch Rivals channel and on Verizon’s Twitter page.
