Vivo is expected to launch a proprietary smartwatch on September 22, hinting a circular watch that is available in two different sizes.
A tipster shared photos of the upcoming Vivo smartwatches in a Weibo post and a poster that suggests its launching date.
The Bluetooth and 3C certifications have revealed that W2052 and W2056 model numbers belong to the upcoming Vivo watch, which is rumored for a launch this coming September 22, as per NDTV.
Specifications
The Vivo watch is speculated to have an AMOLED display, a stainless steel chassis, and dressed in leather or silicone straps. Furthermore, the rumor suggests that it has two distinct sizes: 42mm and 46mm.
One of the most exciting features of the upcoming watch is its battery, where Vivo claims an 18-day battery power if fully charged.
The watch is said to pack all the basic fitness tracking features and a heart rate monitor. The said watch is available in three various colors; orange, black, and brown.
The connectivity of the Vivo watch is supported by Bluetooth 5.1, which is a piece of good news for the consumers. Additionally, it supports payments through multi-functional NFC.
In a Gizmo China report, the outlet reveals that the said watch does not support Google’s WearOS. Instead, much like the Oppo watch, which has a proprietary operating system of its own, Vivo is looking forward to tune FunTouchOS.
Also, the much-awaited watch offers a tracking feature that can be used in various sports activities. It is also safe to take the watch for a swim because it is waterproof.
Pricing and availability
Reports find that the Vivo watch sells at a starting price of about 1,000 Yuan or 146 USD.
But, it would be disappointing for global consumers if Vivo also prices the Vivo watch like the Oppo watch. The Oppo watch started from 200 USD in markets like India, whereas the price for the European version is now about £369 or 484 USD.
The Vivo watch will first launch in China, and its global market release is still unknown. The expected price would be less than 150 USD, which is a very competitive price for a watch with the specifications mentioned above.
Furthermore, there are leaks about the launch of the OnePlus Watch as well, with rumors hinting a similar design language like the Vivo watch.
The Chinese technology giants from BBK are also launching their smartwatches in the global market to compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple.
