The Vivo Y1s is Vivo’s newest entry-level smartphone, which offers big on display and battery.
Vivo has quietly launched the Y1s smartphone. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s latest is also its newest stab in the budget-friendly segment.
6.22-inch Halo FullView LCD screen, Dynamic Features, and Dark Mode
The Vivo Y1s features a large 6.22-inch Halo FullView LCD screen, with a resolution of 720 x 1,520 pixels. The phone measures 135.11 x 75.09 x 8.28mm and weighs 161 grams. It also features an 88.6% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to its notched-toting display.
The device is also noted for its Dynamic Features. The new feature, which can be accessed in Settings, provides the phone’s users a slew of options that customize screen animations. Alternatively, it can be used when the phone unlocks or recognize a user’s face.
Meanwhile, Vivo claims that the phone’s display can filter out blue light, preventing eye strain. Moreover, the phone’s UI has Dark Mode, which, according to the company, has “true” dark qualities and can extend the device’s battery life even longer.
Traditional camera offerings
Around its back, the Vivo Y1s goes conventional with its offerings. It has a neat-looking panel which only features a single 13-megapixel, equipped with an aperture of f/2.2 and an LED flash. There is also a 5MP selfie snapper with f/1.8 aperture.
Vivo also revealed that the Y1s device comes with its AI Face beauty. The exclusive feature offers tailored solutions that render more refined skin tones and textures.
The Vivo Y1s, despite not featuring a fingerprint reader, has Face Access. The feature unlocks the device the moment it recognizes a user’s face.
Helio P35 and Android 10
Under the hood, the Vivo Y1s is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P35 chipset. The phone is then coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage; The latter can be expanded via the device’s microSD card slot. It is also listed with a 4,030mAh battery capacity. However, it doesn’t come with a fast charge technology.
The Vivo Y1s also packs several connectivity options. These include dual 4G VoLTE, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone charges through a dated Micro USB port as well.
The handset runs on FunTouch OS 10.5, based on the latest Android 10.
Launched in Cambodia, the Vivo Y1s is priced at USD 109. It retails in two color variants – Olive Black and Aurora Blue. Vivo is mum yet whether it will launch its newest smartphone in other markets.
