Vivo Y70 set to launch soon, full specs leaked

The accompanying leak of the Vivo Y70 has also outed its purported price.

The noted Chinese smartphone manufacturer is gearing up another mid-range entry under its Y series of smartphones – the Vivo Y70.

Two months after Vivo released the Y70s to the world, the company may now be scheduled to announce the Vivo Y70 as its list of specifications has just been leaked.

LCD screen with a conventional 60Hz refresh rate

Outed on China’s micro-blogging site Weibo, the leak revealed that the smartphone would pack an LCD screen, with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. Accordingly, the display is set to be supplied by JDI.

Akin to the Y70s, the Vivo Y70 is also launching with a 60Hz refresh rate. Interestingly, the leak didn’t show any detail surrounding the size of the display.

Exynos 880 SoC and up to 8GB of RAM

Meanwhile, the device is also revealed to boast the very same Exynos 880 SoC found on its Y70s sibling. For the uninitiated, the chipset comprises of two ARM Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2GHz and 6x ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.

In the graphical side of things, there is an ARM Mali-G76 MP5 GPU, which supports up to FullHD+ resolution.

Alongside the phone’s processing power, this handset’s RAM and ROM configurations were also shown. The leak revealed that the phone would come with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM tiers. However, the device will only come with a single 128GB of onboard storage.

In terms of its provision on memory expansion, the Vivo Y70 is also expected to be similar with the Y70s, that is launching without support for extra storage. The phone is also listed with a massive 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast wired charging which should charge over a USB Type-C port.

48MP-headlining camera setup

In the camera department, the smartphone will feature a 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor as its primary lens. This is then going to be accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

Now, while this appears to be the same camera configuration that is found on the Y70s, Vivo is giving the Y70 a different selfie camera experience. That is with an OV8856 8MP sensor. Meanwhile, the specs sheet mentioned that the phone’s camera setup would pack an electronic image stabilization.

The pricing of the Vivo Y70 was also leaked. At the time of its launch, the phone will be priced at CNY 1,798 for its 6GB/128GB edition, while the 8GB/128GB variant will retail for CNY 1,998.

Ultimately, the leaked specs sheet did not reveal anything about the official release date of the Vivo Y70. But considering this massive leak, the device is now expected to launch any time this month.
