A new report claims the Russian government formed a partnership with developers of the NEO blockchain platform, after a request from the country’s President Vladimir Putin.
‘NEO News Today’ reports the NEO Competence Centre in St Petersburg received a letter from the “Russian Association of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain,” requesting a collaboration “in accordance with the request of the President of the Russian Federation, Mr Vladimir Putin.”
The report says a potential relationship between the two organisations was first discussed at the Administration of the President of Russian Federation on December 12th, 2017.
Three months later the Association told the NEO competence centre it was “ready to provide all round support.”
The relationship is said to be “unique to NEO” and was formed to help “establish the integration of blockchain into the Russian economy.”
Vladimir Putin has previously endorsed blockchain and said it was important Russia was not “late in the race” to adopt the technology. M
