According to Comicbook, WandaVision‘s Teyona Parris, a.k.a., Monica Rambeau just teased her next appearance in Captain Marvel 2. The Brie Larson starrer sequel 2019’s blockbuster will arrive in phase five in the next two years.
Speaking of Teyonah, fans will see her character’s origin story in the ongoing MCU Disney+ series. For now, she is Geraldine in the TV show’s mysterious reality of Scarlet Witch, a.k.a. Wanda.
Actress Teyonah plays a grown-up Monica in WandaVision and is now an agent of S.W.O.R.D as well. But after this series, her next big project is Brie Laron’s second installment in her hit franchise. Plus, the movie will also star another young and unknown face in Iman Vellani. The teenager will play Ms. Marvel in her solo show before sharing the screen with Larson and Parris in Captain Marvel 2.
Speaking about the same, actress Parris recently teased her next appearance in the movie. In the interaction with Rotten Tomatoes TV, she said:
“I am excited, just as the actress, to join Brie and Iman and see what putting these three superheroes together — the Carol Danvers Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau — [to see] what will happen in that film.”
She also expressed her happiness to be the next Black female superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Captain Marvel 2 will see a new director and Nia DaCosta taking charge of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s duo. Its currently scheduled to open in theaters on November 11, 2022.
Meanwhile, the most popular franchise’s line-up looks pretty impressive with the future releases. Both on the side of shows and movies, the MCU will keep presenting new titles for its die-hard fans.
Although the pandemic did impact the flow of multiple releases, this year feels like a relief, for sure. WandaVision has already begun phase four, and the streak will continue, provided there’s no more delay. The next show to arrive on Disney Plus service is Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It will be the second TV series under the MCU.
Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Eternals, and Spider-Man 3 films were scheduled to arrive in 2021, but now they have been delayed again. If the virus cases keep spreading rapidly, then all of them might witness a new date, perhaps in the next year! And due to this, phase five will also suffer. Anticipated movies like Black Panther 2, Blade, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, and of course, Captain Marvel 2 will be released highly late.
