It’s been just more than two weeks since its launch, but WandaVision has lost its position as the best-rated MCU entry on Rotten Tomatoes.
According to Comicbook, WandaVision, which debuted with a staggering rating of 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, has slightly come down. Although it’s still certified fresh, no doubt, the score is now 94 percent. Before its arrival, Black Panther, from 2018, was the undisputed king among all the MCU entries so far. It still has a near-perfect score of 96 percent!
WandaVision second, Black Panther remains on top!
The Elizabeth Olsen-Paul Bettany sitcom-style show is now joint-second on Rotten Tomatoes’ list alongside Avengers: Endgame and first Iron Man. They all have a similar rating of 94 percent, which is not bad by any means. It’s just that Black Panther has regained its iconic spot once again. It will be interesting to see if any future MCU show or movie can dethrone it or not for a more extended period.
The Ryan Coogler film has just 19 rotten reviews out of 517 since its original release day. On the other hand, WandaVision, so far, has received overall 146 reviews. Out of them, only 12 are rotten (at the time of writing this article).
But when it comes to the “Audience Score” on Rotten Tomatoes, then the first phase four-installment has a not-so-good rating of 79 percent. However, Black Panther also has a similar score when it comes to the reviews by moviegoers themselves. So in that way, they are both even for now. The margin can now increase negatively or positively for the latest Disney Plus MCU show as it proceeds with new episodes.
Upcoming MCU titles in the future
Meanwhile, this year has eventually brought some relief for all the die-hard Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. Their wait for a new title ended earlier this month with a brand new Disney+ show. But that’s not all! The streak is expected to continue with Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki, of course.
And there are new anticipated TV shows like Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight.
On the side of movies, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the speed has slowed down unexpectedly. Finished movies like Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals witness constant delays for the last few months. And as a result, new movies after them are also getting pushed further. Spider-Man 3, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, and Blade will arrive late.
Coming back to the WandaVision show, its next episode is arriving this Friday on Disney’s streaming platform.
