Fans are still trying to decode everything from the WandaVision series. And its showrunner just revealed that there was an alternate ending!
Showrunner Jac Schaeffer had an interview with Vanity Fair in which she said that WandaVision had an alternate ending.
The MCU TV series featured Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Vision.
SPOILER WARNING: The following might contain essential details about the show. You can stop reading right now if you haven’t watched it yet.
‘WandaVision’: What was the alternate ending?
While discussing the show, Jac Schaeffer revealed another version of the WandaVision finale’s ending.
Schaeffer said that the final episode was about to explain the Darkhold’s prophecy about the former Avenger.
“The prophecy had to do with her destroying the world,” she said.
“So she’s fighting her identity as the Scarlet Witch because she doesn’t want to be the person who destroys the world. That was the thing that she was really, really afraid of.”
She said that showed not everything at the end of WandaVision regarding the book’s prophecy. And there’s a lot to be told in future installments under the franchise.
Marvel intentionally kept it restricted so that other upcoming projects will deal with it. And it will become even more interesting to know everything, but gradually.
“Because when you pass the ball forward, it gives the next team more to work with. We loved the idea that we would land her knowing some, but not all.”
Thus, it’s clear that the prophecy of the Scarlet Witch destroying the world might turn out to be true. However, it’s left for a future series or a movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
