Watch Dogs: Legion is a unique take on the series as now, players will be in control of multiple characters. It’s certainly a peculiar take on an open-world game, but there’s still more than meets the eye.
Ubisoft still has months to work with before Watch Dogs: Legion launches, and the developer is slowly teasing us with more details about the game. Taking a cue from developers like CD Projekt Red, Ubisoft wants to make the game’s world feel alive with unique NPCs.
NPCs with set schedules
A recent story reveals that the NPCs in the game will all come with their unique set schedules. Apart from that, Ubisoft also says that players can monitor these NPCs with an upgrade called ‘deep profiler.’ The skill is important as it will allow players to understand better the people they want to recruit for the game.
By using the skill, players will be able to know specific details such as important dates. This immersion into the game’s NPCs lets players understand how important DedSec is in the game. Of course, these are all details for now, and we’re sure that players are excited to see how such a feature plays out in the game.
If ever Ubisoft does pull it off, the game will have the most in-depth NPCs to date. It’s certainly not the first game to have NPCs with a schedule. However, it will be the first game to have such an in-depth roster of extras.
A promising game
Based on what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion is shaping up to be a unique and promising game. The idea of having to recruit playable characters, all with different abilities, is exciting on its own already. Still, players are concerned about the outcome.
Ubisoft has grand ambitions for the game, but pulling it off may be easier said than done. The developer’s track record of buggy game launches is worrying players. However, recent releases like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins suggests that the developer now has better practices when it comes to game development.
Watch Dogs Legion launches on Oct. 29 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. An upgraded PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version is also on the way and will be available once the new generation of consoles launches by the holiday season this year.
