CD Projekt Red’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 is an exciting RPG game from the developers of The Witcher 3. Fans are forgetting that it’s going to be a shooter primarily, and the developers are quick to remind us that with a view of the game’s amazing weapons.
The recent Night City stream showcased more features of the game. This time around, we got to see Cyberpunk 2077‘s weapons and life paths. These features add a whole new depth to the game, but it’s the weapons that have indeed caught the attention of excited fans.
Guns galore
In total, there three weapon categories in the game: melee, ranged, and cyberware. The focus on the recent live stream is the guns, which in itself falls into three categories: Power Weapons, Tech Weapons, and Smart Weapons.
Power Weapons are mostly similar to conventional guns we see from other games. The difference is that most of the bullets of Power Weapons can ricochet off of surfaces, making them ideal for combat in tight spots.
On the other hand, Tech Weapons use electromagnetic power to launch metal projectiles at high speeds. This makes the weapon tree very useful when it comes to breaking through enemy covers.
The Smart Weapons, on the other hand, are used to track enemies in real-time. Making them useful for missions that force players to kill specific enemies. It can even hit enemies even if they are behind cover.
Players will need to adapt their loadout to the current situation. Some weapons are better during certain missions. This means players shouldn’t exactly rely on one weapon type throughout the game. They’ll most likely come across various gun types as they progress through the game.
Guns and RPG elements
The developers also noted during the live stream that even when it comes to gunplay, RPG elements are still crucial. In Cyberpunk 2077, the players can become more proficient with a weapon the more they use it.
Some of the improvements players will notice is that they can reload faster, aim better, and even move better when using weapons they have mastered.
Cyberpunk 2077 launches on November 19 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Upgraded versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be available, possibly by next year. It’s one of the most anticipated titles of 2020,
