Overwatch 2 is Blizzard’s most anticipated title currently. It’s been almost a year since the game got revealed, and fans are excited to see the game again. Moreover, they are eager to learn more about what will happen to the first game once the anticipated sequel arrives.
The good news is that Overwatch won’t become obsolete once the sequel arrives. As per Blizzard, the first game will receive all of the maps, multiplayer modes, and heroes that are coming along with the sequel. That doesn’t mean that there’s no benefit to getting the sequel, though.
Instead of making the two titles separate, Blizzard is instead looking to merge the two titles. Those playing on the sequel can play with those on Overwatch. The catch is that Overwatch owners will not be able to access the story content, which will be exclusive in the sequel.
The story elements are the biggest addition in Overwatch 2. These include co-op missions for up to four players. What this basically means is that players don’t have to buy the sequel immediately. Until they get by, they can still enjoy Overwatch’s multiplayer content.
The sequel pushes the story of the game forward. It’s what fans have been asking for since the launch of the game. The story will continue through story missions that take players on a global adventure.
Aside from this, Blizzard will also be expanding the game’s maps and roster of heroes. For now, Blizzard is done with adding new major content for Overwatch. One of the confirmed heroes for the sequel is Sojourn.
There will be a few new game modes aside from the multiplayer campaign as well. The new confirmed mode is called Push. Basically, teams will have to guide a huge Omnic as it pushes the payload on the other end of the map. The goal is to get the Omnic to push it back into the opponent’s base.
Blizzard has a solid plan for Overwatch 2. Instead of making the first game obsolete, they’ve instead opted to make some features exclusive to the sequel. Fans might like the idea as this means they don’t have to buy the sequel immediately.
