Prince Andrew attended the big day of his eldest daughter Princess Beatrice. However, he was not present on the photos released to the press.
Prince Andrew has been embroiled in a string of controversies due to his connection with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. It could be the reason the palace opted to release wedding photos sans the Duke of York.
Prince Andrew no sighting in Princess Beatrice’s wedding photos
Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday. The royal family did not announce the date of the royal wedding, so many were surprised after learning about it.
To celebrate the event, the palace released official photos taken from the ceremony. In one snap, the bride and groom are with Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II. Their parents were noticeably missing in the snaps.
According to former royal Press Secretary Dickie Arbiter, the official photos did not include the disgraced royal because of his downfall.
“A wedding day is always special to the bride – but it is also a huge event for their mother and father too,” Arbiter told Express.
“So it is tragic for Beatrice that neither of the two official images feature her parents, to whom she is so close. But it’s a sign of how far Prince Andrew has fallen.”
Duke of York was present at the event
Even if the official photos did not include Prince Andrew, he was present at the wedding. Princess Beatrice’s mom, dad, and sister didn’t skip the event, and the palace confirmed it.
“The ceremony was attended by Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, the couple’s parents and siblings. The Bride was walked down the aisle by her Father. Mr. Mapelli Mozzi’s son Wolfie was best man and pageboy,” the palace said in a statement as quoted by Harper’s Bazaar.

Princess Beatrice also wore Queen Mary’s diamond fringe tiara. The bride loaned both of her wedding dress and headdress from the Queen.
Fab four skipped the event
Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle were missing at Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding. According to Harper’s Bazaar, it was due to the pandemic.
Princess Beatrice had a small wedding “in keeping with the unique circumstances while enabling them to celebrate their wedding with their closest family.” Only 20 people attended the wedding ceremony.
To celebrate the event, the Sussexes and Cambridges reached out to the newlyweds to send them their best wishes.
