Will a ‘Super Mario’ collection release soon?

Share

This year marks the 35th anniversary of Super Mario, and as one of Nintendo’s most popular icons, it’s almost a given that fans are going to get something special this year.

There’s a lot already in store for Super Mario’s 35th anniversary. First off, we already have a Lego set coming to us later this year, and it features a full interactive playset. The Lego sets can even be improved with expansion sets that are sold separately.

Aside from that, Nintendo is partnering with clothing brands to release limited edition apparel featuring everyone’s favorite plumber.

Of course, what fans are eagerly waiting for are the rumored remasters of the best games in the franchise. According to recent speculations, it seems like fans are going to get more than what they asked for.

What remasters are coming?

According to the leaks, Nintendo is apparently working on remastering most of the 3D games, including Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy, which released on the Nintendo 64, GameCube, and Wii respectively.

Although it may seem far-fetched for now, fans are hoping that Nintendo will go the extra mile by launching a Super Mario Collection featuring these games, and possibly even more. However, as many would believe, it’s almost impossible for Nintendo to do that as they haven’t been fond of bundling their games into one package.

If Nintendo does bundle these games into a collection, we’re sure that fans will be more than happy to pick it up for the Nintendo Switch. The rumored bundle is said to arrive before 2020 ends, but for now, it’s advisable for fans to take the hints with a grain of salt as we’ve still yet to know what Nintendo is planning.

Most of the fans of the gaming company believe that the games will be digitally exclusive on the eShop only. While that doesn’t sound like a bad idea, fans would prefer a physical collection instead.

When will more details arrive?

As fans have expected, more details on Nintendo’s plans for Super Mario could’ve been revealed at E3 2020. However, now that the event has been canceled, it might take longer for new details to arrive.

Fans are hoping that Nintendo will opt to release their Nintendo Direct during the planned E3 week as it has always taken a digital approach when it comes to presentations.

Regardless of whether or not there are new details, fans of the franchise can’t help but feel excited for what’s to come later this year. Hopefully, there won’t be any delays.
