Will Meghan Markle return to acting with Netflix deal?

Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings revealed the new role of Meghan Markle after she signed a multi-million dollar deal with the streaming giant, along with her husband, Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle seems to be preparing for her new role as she begins her work with Netflix. Does this mean fans will once again see the former actress return to the small screen?

Netflix co-CEO broke silence over Prince Harry, Meghan’s deal

In his appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Hastings revealed his excitement over working with the Sussexes to the host, Andrew Ross Sorkin.

“It’s gonna be epic entertainment,” he said, via Hello!

He also commended the couple by calling them “smart.” He then confirmed the news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex pitched their idea to different companies but decided to partner with Netflix instead.

“I think we really put together the best complete package,” Hastings continued. “We’re going to do a wide range of entertainment with them.”

Sadly, he couldn’t give any further details about their upcoming projects and only teased what’s to come.

“I think it will be some of the most exciting, most viewed content next year,” he teased.

Talking about Meghan’s possible return to the small screen, she may be working behind the camera and not in front of it.

“You know, the real focus for them is on being producers and on building a production capacity,” he explained. “So, that’s the key thing.”

“They’ve developed a great eye for story, and we’ll be working with them on that basis,” Hastings added.

Monarchy ‘looking over the shoulders’ at Prince Harry, Meghan

Meanwhile, the monarchy is, reportedly, “looking over its shoulder” at Prince Harry and Meghan after signing their Netflix megadeal.

According to Daily Mail, the two failed to tell Queen Elizabeth II about their multi-year $150 million deal with Netflix.

Palace aides only told Her Majesty about the news after Prince Harry and Meghan announced it to the world. The deal would involve a yet-to-be-named production company that would work on documentaries, feature films, and children’s shows that they would produce.

“Family members will be hoping that Harry and Meghan stick to the pledge that they made,” royal expert Victoria Murphy wrote in Town and Country.

The promise includes upholding the values of the Queen in “everything they do.”

“They have no way of controlling the Sussexes,” she continued. “The actions of this couple will inevitably still reflect on the institution.”

Murphy added that Prince Harry and Meghan might have no interest in answering their critics. However, the monarchy didn’t have the same freedom and had to answer everyone’s question.
