Nikki and Brie Bella teased their potential return on WWE years after they decided to step down from the ring.
For years, Nikki and Brie Bella have been renowned for their in-ring performances inside the WWE ring.
Now, the twins seemed to have plans on making a comeback and participate in fights again, especially in tag team competitions.
In their recent interview with guest host Mario Lopez on The Ellen Degeneres Show, the twins hinted about their possible return.
Per Nikki, the media company’s announcement regarding the three WrestleMania host cities made them think about fighting again.
“When I heard about Dallas 2022, Hollywood 2023, I got chills. And I said, ‘Brie, we have never gone after the tag titles.’ They were made for us. There’s another run in the Bella twins,” Nikki said (via People)
For Brie’s part, she revealed that giving birth and the process of motherhood gave her some thoughts on continuing her career again.
“I’ll never forget when we came back after our match, and her three little girls were in what we call gorilla — which is the place before we go out into the ring,” she said.
She then recalled her fight against Stephanie McMahon during SummerSlam.
According to Brie, she wants her kids to look at her like how Stephanie’s kids go to her after their fight.
She could also remember how the kids look at Stephanie like she was a superhero.
The Bella twins added that their profession seems to empower all women globally, pushing them even more to go back to their wrestling careers.
Why did Nikki, Brie Retired?
Their recent statement came after both Nikki and Brie announced their retirement during the season finale of their E! series, “Total Bellas.”
In 2019, Nikki participated in the European tour. But instead of thinking about going further, the trip caused her to realize that it was already time for her to say goodbye to her professional wrestling career.
The European tour apparently did not make her feel good as she realized at that time that she is already too old to travel.
Nikki also revealed on The Tonight Show that the injuries they suffered while fighting led them to finally give up.
It is worth noting that she had neck issues since she joined WWE. However, things were never the same again, even after undergoing neck surgery.
Unfortunately, Nikki found out that the disc on her neck caused inflammation as she endured the cyst on her brain.
On the other hand, her sister announced her retirement in another episode of “Total Bellas” in the same year.
