Jada Pinkett has not always loved the idea of marriage. When she married Will Smith in 1997, she revealed that it was due to the pressures that she received. Not to mention, she was already three months pregnant back then.
But, despite not wanting to have a wedding, she and the Bad Boys actor love each other. After dating for over a year, they tied the knot in a private ceremony at a hotel in Jada’s hometown.

Divorce was never an option
Earlier this year, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith faced the most controversial thing, yet, about their relationship. This comes after artist August Alsina, who happens to be their firstborn son’s friend, revealed his secret relationship with the Gotham actress.
Following all the revelations, many thought that it would already be the end of the Smiths’ marriage. However, the couple has since seemingly sorted it out.
A few weeks later, Will and Jada discussed the “entanglement” on the latter’s Facebook live series, Red Table Talk. The couple clarified that Jada and August had a relationship when they were privately separated.
Things have since appeared to go well with the two. They also recalled that divorce was never an option for them.
They call themselves as “life partners”
In 2018, many rumors circulated claiming that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were heading for a divorce. But, the Aladdin actor addressed the rumors in an interview with Rap Radar podcast, according to Elite Daily.
He explained that his and Jada’s relationship has always remained “strong,” adding that they have moved beyond calling themselves as “husband” and “wife.” The actor also shared that they no longer see themselves as “married.”
Instead, Will Smith has since referred to themselves as “life partners.” He said that they have already arrived in a “space” where they realized that they would “literally” be together for the rest of their lives.
