On January 27, the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) declared the promoted songwriters to full members this year.
The Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), a non-profit copyright collective, aims to enhance Korea’s music culture.
It is by protecting copyright holders’ intellectual property rights and guaranteeing ease of use for listeners.
Established in 1964, the organization still maintains a database of copyrighted pieces and intellectual property holders.
KOMCA promotes songwriters to full members
KOMCA allows any copyright holder to join them as a “junior member”. Only 25 junior members will be chosen by the board of directors each year to promote to the “full members” status.
Meanwhile, 22 select-members were from the mainstream category. The other three are from the non-mainstream variety.
