‘Wonder Woman 1984’: Release date postponed once again

As pandemic slows down theatre reopenings in the U.S., Wonder Woman 1984’s release date is postponed once again.

Wonder Woman 1984’s release has been suspended once again, now set to debut on Christmas day, precisely on December 25. The drama was incipiently scheduled to release in December last year but was postponed a month to give way to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Later on, it was pushed to June for a summer release in the US. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse with the pandemic causing theatres to shut down, and the movie was postponed once again.

“Wonder Woman 1984” Cast

Gal Gadot reprises her role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. In this film, she is a timeless demigoddess, an amazon warrior, and a princess. She learns the difficulties and trouble of human life after coming out from Themyscira into the world.

Wonder Woman 1984 stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, an American pilot. After being assumed dead in Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor returns to meet his lovable partner, Diana Prince. He is anonymous to the technology, speculated to be exotic to the modernized world. However, his love Diana Prince educates him about the newly created upgraded world.

Connie Nielsen takes the role of Hippolyta, the queen of Themsycira, and Diana Prince’s mother. The character can be seen particularly in the flashback scenes, as she is dead in this film. The movie also has Kristen Wiig as Barbara Ann Minerva, Ravi Patel, Natasha Rothwell, Gabriella Wilde, Amr Waked, and Kristoffer Polaha.

The official announcement shocks the audience

Wonder Woman 1984 is DC Extended Universe’s (DCEU) upcoming movie, directed by Patty Jenkins. The cinema has been meeting a release date issue for over a long time. Now it has been driven again from its October release date. Due to COVID-19, the release date still prolongs.

Warner Bros made an official announcement that they will be postponing the release of Wonder Woman 1984. It was supposed to hit the theatres on October 2, 2020, just a few weeks away. Now the movie has been given a new release date, which is on December 25, 2020.

“Patty is an exceptional filmmaker and with ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ she has delivered an incredibly dynamic film that moviegoers of all ages around the world will absolutely love,” said Toby Emmerich, the Warner Bros. Motion Picture’s group chairman, as reported by Variety.

“We’re very proud of the film and look forward to bringing it to audiences for the holidays,” he added.
